About Me:
I am not exactly a resident on Hamilton County but I am a neighbor. Gee, I hope that counts. And besides, I spent a lot of time there and love the place.
My favorite thing to do was publishing a local video news magazine called the Pendleton-Gazette Video News Magazine here in Pendleton, Indiana. The primary focus was on the people, places, and happenings in and around the Madison County area.
In late August of 2008 I made a decision to put the Pendleton-Gazette on hold and cease publication (at least for the time being). That was a very difficult decision. With the lagging economy and advertisers the time and effort just didn't make sense to continue this endeavor at that time.
I am now looking at 2009 and the possibility of bringing the Pendleton-Gazette back on line. I am developing a few ideas as to what types of stories the new Pendleton-Gazette should contain and the way it might look.
Do I miss it? You bet I do. Missed most of all are the people I met, the friends I made, and the stories they had to tell.
So what am I doing now? I am catching up on things around the house. With my daughter Jaimie's help we have re-painted about every room in the house. And if there is one thing I don't like doing it is painting. The other thing, which is turning out to be a lot more work than I counted on, is removing the wallpaper from one of the bedrooms. The wallpaper was put on bare walls. I don't know if you have ever encountered anything like that, and I hope you don't ever, you talk about a mess I have one. If you have any suggestions please send them along. Or better yet, if you have some free time and would like to help come on over.

While this may have been initiated to make it more convenient for payments, given the times we are in, it may lead some to further extent already troublesome debt. Many families are already robbing Peter to pay Paul because of increased cost at the grocery, a job loss, or other increase in the cost of living that have struck many. For instance, the Town of Pendleton announce… Continue

There are some sweet deals among all this doom and gloom

Believe it or not there is some positive news scattered in with the doom and gloom. The AP just reported that new home sales rose by 2.7% according to the most recent Commerce Department report. And the National Association of Realtor's issued a report stating existing home sales were also up over 5% in October. The down side in both of these reports is that neither of these figures came without a price given the overall drop in home prices. But this is still far better than all of the earlier h… Continue

Employment Listing Services

Have you inspected an employment listing website that left you totally unfulfilled? I found immediately that there are employment websites that are totally lacking. A leading flaw that I have seen on multiple sites is that they include so many outdated posts that it makes it trying to direct your search. I don’t want to [...]

How to Get Free Coke Reward Points

This is probably the easiest way to get free Coke Reward Points that you’re likely to find on the web.  All you have to do is sign up at the free auction site Listia.  When you sign up, they give you 100 points to spend on whatever you want.  You don’t have to spend a [...]

Listia: What if Craigslist and Ebay had a baby together?

If Craigslist and Ebay had a bastard child, it would probably look something like Listia.com.  The site allows you to auction off your old junk for “free” and then use the points others bid on your items to buy their “junk” in return.  As one man’s junk is another man’s treasure, it’s easy to come [...]
