Local filmmaker launches second movie project in Noblesville

Noblesville-based filmmaker Sam Gaw was looking for a “modern-day Mayberry” setting for his latest production. He found it on Maple Street.

“I was in charge of location scouting and I just happened to drive by this beautiful yellow house,” Gaw said.

A former publishing executive turned movie producer, Gaw is now working on his second film project set in Noblesville. “Taylor Made” will be a short film between 20 and 25 minutes that that tells the story of Amanda who has a “Twilight Zone” vision of the unborn child she is about to abort.

“It’s a very artistic approach,” Gaw said. “Should be able to strike up some conversations because its a relevant film.”

Gaw is again collaborating with African-born writer, director, producer Guy Camara who studied filmmaking in New York before moving to Indianapolis to become an independent filmmaker.

Their first film, “The Broken Road” was released in 2007 and screened in Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York and Alabama. Last month, Gaw and Camara shot a trailer in Noblesville for their upcoming project “My Life as a Doormat” which begins shooting in Noblesville later this year.

“We’re back in Noblesville and hopefully we’ll continue to come back and shoot more films,” Gaw said.
